The Urethane Block division of Friddle's Orthopedic uses a state-of-the-art Decker D-70 mixing and injections machine in rigid block manufacture. This highly sophisticated machine controls temperature, pressure and volume in metering and mixing the components for rigid urethane blocks. The results are blocks that are extremely uniform in texture and density. Our prosthetic blocks have an average density of 7.0 pounds per cubic foot while our orthotic blocks average 6.0 pounds per cubic foot. This density provides you with a block that will stand up to the temperatures and pressures of vacuum forming thermoplastics used in the O&P industry. Both stock and custom size and shapes are available from our urethane division.
